Her parents are Harvey Welker who is Native American and Julie Welker who is African-American. Her mother works as an agent in real estate while her father works as an engineer. Walker attended her school at the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown and graduated with the diploma in 1994. Following her graduation from Harvard College in 1998, she went to Harvard College and earned her bachelor of Arts. Welker and John Hughes, a famous marketing director of Merck Philadelphia who is married to two children together. In 2014, they started being involved in an affair. John her husband has an age difference of four years compared to her. It was going great which is why they chose to continue their relationship. They got married on the 4th of March 2017.
