April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among just a handful of female beach volleyball players to have done so. Alix Kallineman will compete with April Ross Tokyo for her third gold medal in the next couple of days. Ross would like to do more than just her first Olympic medal. It could be the last opportunity she gets as she is 39 years old. Nevertheless she is confident that winning the gold medal is within reach. Ross told NBC Boston that he believes If they can play at their absolute most effective, and even play a great game, they'll win the gold. Therefore, I'm hoping to have a little bit of luck and hope for the best. Ross had her birth on the 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. Ross participated in various athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. As a student-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. However she was clearly a distinguished athlete in this latter game. At the time of her high school volleyball season as per her college bio, she was a middle blocker, outside player, and setter. The effort was recognized with her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Even though Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene prior to their team. In reality, she was the winner of many major events playing two partners. One of which was an icon of volleyball. Her partnership was with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, in addition to serving as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be extremely successful on the world of professional sports, winning their first world title in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal from the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team as well as Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They won the bronze medal at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a college player who played for the Trojans at USC before beginning her pro career. She played in high school, and even years prior to getting on the beach to become a professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was awe-inspiring. While a freshman in the year 2000 she played her way to Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also earned an All-American. The Trojans also reached the Final Four. During her sophomore year she went through a heartbreaking personal loss, yet she managed to win an All-American. The two years following her she led the Trojans to the top of the hill to win consecutive national titles. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross went on to study internationally-related studies at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the opportunity to witness her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Her mother is still very dearly. Also, Margie is an ongoing source of energy for her on the shore and in her daily life.
