Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, her character in the romance film Piano. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient of the award in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian native New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the honor. As a result of an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish musician. Paquin began her career in the midst of her childhood with a part as the Jane Eyre title character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre followed by a major part of Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a less prominent character. The actress played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
