Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, her character in the romance film Piano. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a less prominent character. The actress played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
