Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. She was born and raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film part. Her fight to secure a part on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. It was difficult for her to transition from modelling to acting as models were not thought of as actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy did her best to get noticed and was eventually offered larger roles starting with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a while, Amy took the leap into bigger roles. Amy was in the romantic comedy Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she had been chasing more than a decade. She continued to do major films, such as Crank opposite Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring part of the cast.
