Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain was born on the 24th of March 1977. She is an American producer, actress and model. She is known for her role in films that feature feminist themes, she has received numerous accolades like an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals worldwide in 2012. Chastain started acting in her early years. In 1998 she made her professional debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. After studying acting at Juilliard School, she was offered a talent agreement with John Wells. She was a regular guest star on several television series and was also a part of various stage productions. After her debut in film at the age of 31 with the drama Jolene (2008), Chastain became a household name in the year 2011 , with six films released, including the dramas Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). In her roles as the aspiring socialite and CIA analyst, she won Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The most commercially successful films were the science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), as well as the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was acknowledged for her performance as a strong-willed woman which was evident in the dramas Most Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She also appeared in the miniseries on television Scenes from a Marriage (1921). She then played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain is the co-founder and investor of Freckle Films, a production company that promotes diversity in film. She is vocal about mental issues and the issue of gender and racial equity. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
